HONEYVILLE NATURE RESERVE -
Honeyville Nature Reserve in the Eastern Cape, is made up of 800 hectares of land including 30 hectares of old arable terrain completed with mother line irrigation. The farm has excellent bore-hole water which is fed from an underground river. There are 2 streams running through the reserve, both of which are flowing all year round. The pools along the stream naturally display water lilies, water blommetjies, and ferns. There are also wetland areas that are filled with reeds and all in all this is a very healthy ecosystem.
The remaining land is made up of terrain rich in bio-diversity due to its unique convergence of most of nature's biomes. This adds to its already rich cultural heritage owing to its historical value, that of being the territory of the former Gamtqwa tribe (note there are no land claims).
This attractive composition of land with its surrounding mountains and valley protected by its Nature Reserve Status provides fortunate owners with the opportunity to live within a protected reserve inhabited by wildlife, sustained by organic farming (permaculture and biodynamic) and its natural water resources.
The arable lands are ideal for supporting a sustainable lifestyle, enabling one to farm organic produce. The vision we have for Honeyville includes the setting up of permaculture gardens (organic food gardens) with a variety of food and medicinal herbs for personal use and for producing revenue for the farm. In addition to groceries we want to plant fruit and nut trees as well as harvest various types of berry.
The soil on Honeyville has been approved for the planting of an olive grove, grape vineyard (stok-wyn) and lavender fields.
Regular sightings are made of bushbuck, grysbok, duiker, hare, vervit monkeys and less seldom seen but prevalent are the bat eared fox, aardvark, cape clawless otter, lynx, porcupine and bushpig. There is an overwhelmingly abundant sanctuary of bird life with species ranging from buzzard, giant eagle owl, turaco (loerie), secretary birds, blue crane, storks, Egyptian geese and mandarin ducks etc.
Honeyville presently has 7 cows and 2 bulls whose grazing is rotated in specific pastures suitable for grazing. We do not want to grow the herd and only need what would be necessary to support the community's daily milk requirements and for cheese making. At Honeyville we do not support the killing of animals for meat.
Our horses are also free grazers. These horses can be ridden and need daily contact to support a healthy and harmonious relationship between man and horse and thus enhancing our connection with nature.
Honeyville's proximity to the local beaches is an added feature as the popular and well-known surf spots of Jeffreys Bay and St Francis are within a 25 km range and it is also situated only 25 km from the Kondoma Gate of the Baviaans Kloof Nature Reserve. Jeffreys and St Francis also sport a number of worthwhile popular restaurants and unique shops as well as the new Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay.
This new centre has a Pick n Pay, Woolworths Clothing and Food outlet as well as a cinema.
The distance to the nearest town of Humansdorp which provides all essential amenities is literally 16 km from the main farm-house. There are added services such as a small clinic and a vet.
There are just over 20 opportunities on offer at Honeyville and the prices range from R 495 000 - R 695 000. Each new landowner will take transfer of their own title deed for their respective erf but will then also enjoy the benefits of the remaining "communal" area.

COASTAL LIFESTYLE FARM -
Location
The Farm is located on the coast near Eerste Rivier, approx 18km from the N2.
Size
Made up of a single title the property is 11.3ha in extent
Description
It is a truly beautiful farm. Although access is along a flat plateau, it sits high on a coastal cliff, affording some of the best sea and coastline views I've experienced anywhere. With 2 beautiful homes, situated in a perfect balance of pastures, coastal forest and floral fynbos, it offers a truly exquisite lifestyle opportunity. Because of limited access, this section of the coastline offers some of the best angling opportunities in the Eastern Cape, with the owner reluctantly pointing out 3 specific drop offs that are apparently the nemesis of over tightened drags.
Veld types
Approximately 6ha of the total area is Kikuyu pastures which historically supported 160 sheep. The sheep are long gone, and these pastures are now a magnet to the wealth of indigenous limital game that frequent these coastal forests. The front portion is predominately virgin coastal forest. Conservationally minded, the current owner has nurtured and protected this asset, and as a result it is in pristine condition and free of any alien invasive species. Common tree species found include candlewoods, dune false currant and numerous, healthy stands of keurboom, a species normally found lower down the garden route. This is one of the only coastal places where I have found The King Protea (Cynaroides) growing in conjunction with the more common Lepidocarpodendron and Leucospernums.
Rainfall / Water
The farm falls within the Tsitsikamma transitional summer / winter rainfall area with an annual average of 700mm. Water is drawn from a perennial spring that feeds a 5000 L tank with a float switch, and if necessary, from 2 substantial boreholes. In addition the owner has installed tanks with a combined capacity of 55 000 L to catch the runoff from the Hanger roof.
Improvements
The Main House - was built by the current owner and is over 520m2 in extent. The central section, has a beautifully fitted kitchen and open plan lounge (with fireplace) and dining room which opens via full length sliding doors onto a beautiful wooden deck above the cliff face. 3 large bedrooms (mes with walk in closets), a second bathroom and separate guest toilet complete the central section. Through the spacious double garage and one can either take stairs up or down. Downstairs is a fully fitted large flat, with spacious kitchen, large living area and 2 bedrooms (mes) and a 2nd bathroom. Upstairs one finds a further 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Four of the six bedrooms open onto private wooden balcony's each of which has breathtaking sea views.
The 2nd House - was extended and re fitted by the current owner. It also has a modern, well fitted kitchen, large open plan living area opening onto a spacious open verandah, 3 bedrooms (mes with walk in closets ) and a 2nd bathroom.
The current owner is a Pilot and aircraft maintenance technician. In line with his passion, he built a 330m2 hanger which can house 3 aircraft, with a separate office and tool room. An additional roof (23.5m x 3.5m) adjoining the hangar has been bricked up and converted into a third house, currently used by the caretaker. The hanger has a wealth of tools, equipment, spares, fittings and plant (including an International Tractor and implements) which may be included in the sale at the listed asking price for the property. Both neighbours also fly, and between them they have constructed and maintain a private runway that stretches across the partial width of all three properties.
Conclusion
If you want to invest in your own coastal lifestyle farm, it's difficult to find better in this price range. With the 2 modern, well built houses, hangar, spectacular scenery and quiet country lifestyle it would be ideal for anyone who works from home and wants out of the rat race. Alternatively, bring your buddies on board as lets not forget the 9 bedrooms. As an exclusive vacation destination, it doesn't come much better.
Price
R 8 million plus Vat if payable.

584 HECTARES EASTERN CAPE FARM -
Location
The farm is situated just north of Jeffreys Bay.
Size
Currently the farming unit is made up of 2 different entities with shared infrastructure, which, although are currently farmed as a unit, may be sold separately. The 2 portions are a cumulative 589ha in extent (135ha + 454ha)
Description
Currently farmed as a dairy, the 2 properties lie on a particularly spectacular bend in a perennial river gorge. Vertical stone cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop to the heavily wooded kloofs and gorges which divide the emerald green kikuyu pastures. Out of the valley, a higher, flat plateau is divided into 5, well watered camps currently used for dry cows and heifers...
Veld types
The bulk of the higher, veld camps are typical of the sour, fynbos veld common to this area. Grass species found include, themedia Triandra, Cynodon Dactylon, Aristida congesta and Eragrostis curvula. The gorges are well wooded with cape valley bushveld. There was evidence of some of the perennial pannicum species on the canopy margins and drainage lines. The western valley floor, and the bulk of the western area sloping gently up to the public road, has been established to kikuyu pastures under permanent, spray irrigation (not drag lines). The 2 farms have a combined 53ha of permanent pastures as well as 30h of dry lands, usually planted to winter fodder crops like rye grass and oats.
Rainfall
The farm falls in a transition summer / winter rainfall area with an annual average of 700mm.
Improvements
There is a house on each of the properties, one of which has been converted into a licensed chicken abattoir. The main dwelling has four bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining room and lounge, with a separate outdoor toilet and shower (currently used for staff). The abattoir is in a 4 bedroom, 1 bathroom house with kitchen lounge and dining room, which could easily be re converted should one so wish. The chicken enterprise is on a 2 week cycle placing 2000 birds at a time. They currently slaughter 4000 birds a month and have established outlets for this volume +. The dairy itself is a 16 point herringbone static with a 6500l milk cooler and electronic feeding system. Currently the farm milks 220 cows and carries all it's dry and young stock without supplementary bulk feed.
In addition there is a 300sqM feed store, spray race and cattle handling facility. As discussed, the dry veld is divided into 5 camps, each with its own piped water supply.
Water is currently pumped out of the perennial river, and each irrigation block is serviced by its own pump (total 5) negating the need for cross over valves etc. As discussed the irrigation is all permanent and each block is activated with the flick of a switch.
This farm has a pre approved design and permission for a large dam. Should this be build, one could easily put the remaining 30h of dry land under irrigation.
Conclusion
The farm is aesthetically very pretty and gives the impression of being a very neat, well run setup. It's proximity to Jeffrey's bay, makes for an easy family lifestyle, while being far enough out to retain the privacy and serenity of farm life. The dairy and chicken business provides an impressive revenue stream on a scale that is still very manageable.
Price
R 9.2 million.
