McGregor
McGregor itself is a very special place. It's friendly, safe, very rural and quaint and pretty well integrated. The latter factor probably contributes greatly to its friendliness and safety. It's also still a very real community, not just one presented for tourist purposes. It's not really a place where one would come to make a lot of money, but sufficient income can be obtained to have a very nice way of life here. The level of tourism has definitely increased considerably over the period we have lived (and stayed) here (from 2003 till now). Also, there has been a considerable influx of outside investment in the areas of new builds and renovating old properties, both here in the village & in the nearby town of Robertson. This shows a very good level of confidence in the potential of this area.
The village has a number of lovely restaurants, as well as galleries, craft places and a wonderful pottery. People visit the area for the tranquility, the walking trails and, of course, the wineries - the Robertson Wine Valley is reputed to have the longest wine route IN THE WORLD with a total of 96 wineries!!!
